Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Remove the oil pan
- Place a drain pan under the oil pan.
- Remove the oil pan bolts.
- Carefully lower the oil pan.
2. Remove the crankshaft
- Remove the crankshaft pulley.
- Remove the crankshaft damper.
- Remove the crankshaft bolts.
- Carefully lift the crankshaft out of the engine.
3. Remove the old main bearings
- Use a hammer and punch to drive the old main bearings out of the engine block.
4. Install the new main bearings
- Lubricate the new main bearings with engine oil.
- Carefully insert the new main bearings into the engine block.
- Use a hammer and punch to drive the new main bearings into place.
5. Install the crankshaft
- Carefully lower the crankshaft into the engine block.
- Install the crankshaft bolts.
- Tighten the crankshaft bolts to the specified torque.
6. Install the crankshaft damper
- Install the crankshaft damper on the crankshaft.
- Tighten the crankshaft damper bolt to the specified torque.
7. Install the crankshaft pulley
- Install the crankshaft pulley on the crankshaft.
- Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt to the specified torque.
8. Install the oil pan
- Apply a new oil pan gasket to the oil pan.
- Carefully lift the oil pan into place.
- Install the oil pan bolts.
- Tighten the oil pan bolts to the specified torque.
9. Fill the engine with oil
- Fill the engine with the specified amount of engine oil.
10. Install the oil filter
- Install a new oil filter on the engine.
11. Connect the negative battery terminal
- Connect the negative battery terminal to the battery.
12. Start the engine
- Start the engine and check for leaks.

- Use a torque wrench to tighten all bolts to the specified torque.
