How to Make Car Engine Degreaser
Materials
- 1 gallon white vinegar
- 1/2 gallon water
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup Dawn dish soap
- 1/4 cup Simple Green all-purpose cleaner
- Spray bottle
Instructions
- Pour the vinegar into a large bucket or container.
- Add the water to the vinegar and stir to combine.
- Add the baking soda to the vinegar and water mixture and stir until the baking soda is dissolved.
- Add the Dawn dish soap and Simple Green all-purpose cleaner to the mixture and stir to combine.
- Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
- Apply the degreaser to the oily or greasy areas of your engine.
- Let the degreaser sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Rinse the engine with water.
- Dry the engine with a clean towel.
Tips
- You can also use this degreaser to clean other greasy or oily surfaces, such as your kitchen counter or stovetop.
- If you don’t have white vinegar, you can use apple cider vinegar instead.
- If you don’t have baking soda, you can use baking powder instead.
- If you don’t have Dawn dish soap, you can use any other dish soap.
- If you don’t have Simple Green all-purpose cleaner, you can use any other all-purpose cleaner.
