How to Make a Car Engine Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Beat until smooth.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if desired).
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool completely.

Frosting

  • 1 cup of butter (softened)
  • 3 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add milk and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  3. Frost cooled cake.

  • 1 small square chocolate cake
  • 1 small rectangle chocolate cake
  • 1 small triangle chocolate cake
  • 1 small oval chocolate cake
  • 1 small circle chocolate cake
  • 1 small square chocolate cake
  • 1 small rectangle chocolate cake
  • 1 small triangle chocolate cake
  • 1 small oval chocolate cake
  • 1 small circle chocolate cake

To assemble the car engine cake, follow these steps:

  1. Place the round cake on a serving plate.
  2. Place the square cake on top of the round cake.
  3. Place the rectangle cake on top of the square cake.
  4. Place the triangle cake on top of the rectangle cake.
  5. Place the oval cake on top of the triangle cake.
  6. Place the circle cake on top of the oval cake.
  7. Place the second square cake on top of the circle cake.
  8. Place the second rectangle cake on top of the second square cake.
  9. Place the second triangle cake on top of the second rectangle cake.
  10. Place the second oval cake on top of the second triangle cake.
  11. Place the second circle cake on top of the second oval cake.

Frost the car engine cake as desired.
