How to Listen to Car Radio with Engine Off
There are a few different ways to listen to your car radio with the engine off.
Method 1: Use the Accessory Mode
- Turn the key to the “Accessory” position.
- This will turn on the radio and other accessories, but the engine will not start.
- You can listen to the radio for as long as you want without draining the battery.
Method 2: Use an External Power Source
- Connect a portable power source, such as a battery pack or a jump starter, to the cigarette lighter outlet.
- This will provide power to the radio and other accessories without draining the car battery.
- You can listen to the radio for as long as you want, but be sure to disconnect the power source when you’re finished.
Method 3: Use an FM Transmitter
- Connect an FM transmitter to the headphone jack of your car stereo.
- Tune your FM radio to the frequency that the transmitter is broadcasting on.
- You can now listen to your car stereo through your FM radio.
- This method is not as good as the other two methods, as the sound quality may not be as good and the signal may be weaker.
Tips
- Be sure to turn off the radio when you’re finished listening to it, or you may drain the battery.
- If you’re using an external power source, be sure to disconnect it when you’re finished listening to the radio, or you may damage the power source.
- If you’re using an FM transmitter, be sure to tune your FM radio to the frequency that the transmitter is broadcasting on, or you may not be able to hear the radio.
