How to Detail a Car Engine
Materials You’ll Need
- Engine degreaser
- Detailing brush

Step 1: Safety First
Before you start detailing your car engine, it’s important to take some safety precautions. Make sure the engine is cool to the touch and that the battery is disconnected. You should also wear gloves and eye protection.

- If you have a particularly dirty engine, you may need to repeat the degreasing and cleaning steps several times.
- Be careful not to get water into the electrical components of the engine.
- Allow the engine to cool completely before waxing it.
