How to Clean the Cooling System

Cleaning the cooling system is a relatively simple process that can be done at home with a few basic tools. Here are the steps involved:

1. Gather your materials.

Coolant
Distilled water
Garden hose
Bucket
Funnel
Rags

2. Drain the old coolant.

Place a bucket under the radiator and open the drain valve. Allow the coolant to drain into the bucket. Once the coolant has stopped draining, close the drain valve.

3. Flush the system with distilled water.

Attach a garden hose to the radiator and turn on the water. Allow the water to flow through the system for about 10 minutes. This will help to remove any remaining coolant and debris from the system.

4. Close the hose and fill the system with coolant.

Close the garden hose and remove it from the radiator. Add coolant to the radiator until it is full. Then, start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will help to circulate the coolant throughout the system.

5. Check for leaks and top off the coolant.

Once the engine has cooled down, check for any leaks in the cooling system. If you find any leaks, tighten the loose connections or replace the damaged parts. Then, top off the coolant to the proper level.
