How to Put Oil in Engine – Car Mechanic Simulator
Step 1: Gather your materials
You will need the following materials to put oil in your engine:
* New oil filter
* New oil
* Funnel
* Rags
* Gloves
Step 2: Locate the oil pan
The oil pan is located at the bottom of the engine. It is a large, metal pan that holds the oil.
Step 3: Drain the old oil
Place the oil pan under the engine. Loosen the drain plug using a wrench. The oil will begin to drain out. Allow all of the oil to drain out.
Step 4: Replace the oil filter
Locate the oil filter. It is usually located near the top of the engine. Unscrew the old oil filter by hand. Apply a small amount of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. Screw on the new oil filter by hand. Tighten the oil filter using a wrench.
Step 5: Add new oil
Insert the funnel into the oil filler hole. Add new oil to the engine. The amount of oil you need to add will vary depending on the make and model of your car. Consult your owner’s manual for the correct amount of oil.
Step 6: Check the oil level
Use the dipstick to check the oil level. The oil level should be between the “full” and “add” marks on the dipstick.
Step 7: Reset the oil life monitor
If your car has an oil life monitor, reset it after you have changed the oil. Consult your owner’s manual for instructions on how to reset the oil life monitor.
Tips
* It is important to change your oil regularly. The oil in your engine breaks down over time and can no longer protect your engine.
* The type of oil you use is also important. Consult your owner’s manual for the correct type of oil for your car.
* If you are not comfortable changing your oil yourself, you can take your car to a mechanic.
Troubleshooting
If you have any problems changing your oil, consult your owner’s manual or a mechanic.
