Mission Statement
The UVA Engineering Career Center is committed to providing career services and resources to engineering students and alumni. We help students prepare for their careers by providing resume and cover letter writing assistance, interview preparation, and networking opportunities. We also connect students with potential employers through our job fairs, career fairs, and employer presentations.
Services
Resume and Cover Letter Writing Assistance
The Career Center offers resume and cover letter writing workshops, as well as one-on-one appointments with career counselors. We can help you create a resume and cover letter that highlights your skills and experience, and that will make you stand out to potential employers.
Interview Preparation
The Career Center offers mock interviews, as well as resources on how to prepare for different types of interviews. We can help you practice your answers to common interview questions, and give you feedback on your interviewing skills.
Networking Opportunities
The Career Center hosts a variety of networking events throughout the year, including career fairs, employer presentations, and industry receptions. These events are a great way to meet potential employers, learn about different career paths, and get your foot in the door with companies that you’re interested in.
Job Search Resources
The Career Center provides access to a variety of job search resources, including online job boards, company directories, and salary data. We can also help you develop a job search strategy and identify potential job targets.
Career Counseling
The Career Center offers career counseling appointments, where you can discuss your career goals, explore different career paths, and develop a career plan. We can also help you identify your strengths and weaknesses, and develop strategies for achieving your career goals.
