Types of Car Engines
There are many different types of car engines, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The most common type of engine is the internal combustion engine, which runs on gasoline or diesel fuel. However, there are also electric cars, hybrid cars, and even hydrogen-powered cars.

Internal Combustion Engines
Internal combustion engines are the most common type of engine used in cars today. These engines run on gasoline or diesel fuel, and they use a piston to compress a mixture of air and fuel. The compressed mixture is then ignited by a spark plug, which causes the mixture to burn. The expansion of the burning gases pushes the piston down, which in turn rotates the crankshaft. The crankshaft then drives the wheels of the car.
