1. Engine Block

The engine block is the main structural component of the engine. It houses the cylinders, crankshaft, and other internal components.

2. Cylinder Head

The cylinder head is located on top of the engine block and contains the valves, spark plugs, and other components that control the flow of air and fuel into and out of the cylinders.

3. Piston

The piston is a cylindrical-shaped component that moves up and down inside the cylinder. It compresses the air and fuel mixture and then forces it out of the cylinder during the exhaust stroke.

4. Connecting Rod

The connecting rod is a metal rod that connects the piston to the crankshaft. It transmits the force of the piston’s movement to the crankshaft, which converts it into rotational motion.

5. Crankshaft

The crankshaft is a rotating shaft that converts the up-and-down motion of the pistons into rotational motion. It is connected to the flywheel, which stores energy and helps to smooth out the engine’s operation.

6. Flywheel

The flywheel is a heavy metal disk that is attached to the crankshaft. It stores energy during the power stroke and releases it during the other strokes of the engine cycle.

7. Camshaft

The camshaft is a rotating shaft that controls the timing of the valves. It is driven by the crankshaft and opens and closes the valves at the appropriate times.

8. Timing Belt or Chain

The timing belt or chain is a component that connects the crankshaft to the camshaft. It ensures that the valves open and close at the correct times.

9. Oil Pump

The oil pump is a component that circulates oil throughout the engine. It lubricates the moving parts and helps to prevent wear and tear.

10. Water Pump

The water pump is a component that circulates coolant throughout the engine. It helps to keep the engine from overheating.
