What is a Car Engine?

A car engine is a machine that converts the chemical energy in gasoline into mechanical energy. This energy is then used to power the car’s wheels.

The burning gases expand, pushing the pistons down.
The crankshaft converts the reciprocating motion of the pistons into rotary motion.
